School Visits

Connecting children with books opens the door to new worlds and experiences. Connecting children with an author or an illustrator opens the door to creative exploration and self discovery. Meg Offers both in-person and virtual visits to best suit your schools needs. For questions about rates, or how to schedule a visit with Meg, please contact Booked Authors.

Yay You!

Arranging an author visit for your school creates an unforgettable connection between your students and the books they read. In fact, it often causes such a creative stir that your classroom becomes a reading, writing, book-chatting launchpad for future writers. (Which is a FANTASTIC mission!)

Meg loves visiting schools to talk about writing, reading and the magic of the creative process. She is happy to speak to large assemblies as well as small groups in workshop settings.

As a former K-12 music teacher, Meg is comfortable presenting to all ages. She has discussed novels with first graders and picture books with Seniors in High School. There are no limitations on what can be learned through children’s literature.

Presentations are always designed around specific age groups and Meg is happy to work with you to incorporate the topics that you’d like to cover.

Meg Fleming is the full package! Her books are perfect for any story time. With playful text and rhythmic and rhyming words, they keep the kids’ attention every time. Our library was lucky to have her share her books, tell her stories, and entertain with her magnetic personality to a full-house crowd of both children and adults! We look forward to each new release and can’t wait to have her back during her next book tour!

Meg Fleming visited Littleton Academy recently, and not only did the students love her books, but Meg taught an interactive lesson that made our teachers instant fans of her work. Meg fills the room with joy, and her passion for literacy is contagious. She is a gifted presenter, and her author visit will be your favorite of the year. I give Meg 5 stars and 100 hearts!
— Melissa Anderson, Music/Theater Teacher Littleton, CO
Meg Fleming spent a wonderful day with our 4th grade students. We had a grade level assembly and then followed up with workshops in the classroom. Meg’s energy and enthusiasm captivated our students and they went home believing that they too are writers. I cannot recommend her more highly as a presenter.

Thank you immensely, Meg, for everything you’ve done for my class!!!! My students read Meg’s books together during free time all the time, and I have had multiple students tell me that one or more of her books were the highlight of their year. Meg’s comment about “pictures as a form of storytelling” during our Zoom visit inspired our Watercolor Paint My Year activity, during which some kids tried to paint a picture of Meg’s books, too! I cannot express just how grateful my students, parents of students, and I are for our visit with Meg, and how much we all admire both her work and her generous heart.
